Jennifer is the Founder & Director of NewChic Capital, the Venture and Private Equity arm of her single Family Office. She is also Founder & Director, AKA CGG (Chief Glam Girl) of Glam-it! (Glamit.com) a passion project and now a self-running beauty, fashion, lifestyle technology brand. She is also the Chief Love Officer of PlayGround (PlayGroundApp.com) the internet of ideas, people, and communities.
Born and raised in the US, Jennifer had a career as an actress and a model in New York City. Jennifer graduated with a BA in International Relations from Brown University and received an MBA from Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. A serial entrepreneur, she held management positions at companies and startups including Director of Business Development APAC for Rackspace (NYSE: RAX), Vice President of uBuyiBuy (NASDAQ: GRPN) and Vice President of BEECRAZY (ASX: EN88), and advisory including luxury jewelry brand Plukka (ASX: PKA). With startup exits under her belt, Jennifer continues to invest in, advise, and mentor startups as well as emerging investors and fund managers via NewChic Capital with recent exits including Sensei Biotherapeutics (NASDAQ: SNSE) and Olive-X (NSX: OLX).
An in-demand speaker and published writer and columnist, has been featured and Interviewed on BBC, CNBC, SCMP, Tatler, and more. Jennifer also holds select performances as an award winning classically trained pianist with a performance diploma from New England Conservatory of Music (Pre-college, Piano).
Jennifer is the recipient of the following awards, amongst others: CMO Asia Woman SuperAchiever; APEA Most Promising Young Entrepreneur; Finalist, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Yew Jyu Lan
Jyu Lan has more than 24 years of banking experience gained at major foreign and local banks where she held roles such as Senior Director, Global Markets – Corporate Sales and Advisory at United Overseas Bank, Vice-President, Real Estate, Wholesales Bank at Standard Chartered Bank and Associate Director, Project Financing at Australia and New Zealand Bank. The areas she specialises include corporate credit risk analysis, financial modelling, project financing, asset securitisation, interest rate risk management for corporates, derivatives financial engineering, distressed debt management and asset/liability management for banks.
Jyu Lan is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has three Master degrees - Master of Science (Real Estate) and Master of Social Science (Applied Economics) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and an MBA (Finance) with distinction from New York University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) from NUS and has a Certificate of Proficiency in Business Mandarin for Banking Professionals, awarded by the Singapore Chinese Chamber Institute of Business.
Jyu Lan is passionate about educating the masses on investing safely for retirement. She is a regular speaker at SGX Academy and SGX-supported events specialising in topics relating to income focused listed securities and corporate credit risk analysis. She also taught the topic of Essentials of Credit Risk Analysis under SGX Academy Research Talent Program for finance professionals. Over the years, she had shared her investment knowledge with thousands of retail investors.
Binni has more than 15 years of experience in providing trading education to both institutional and retail clients. She invests and trades in a wide array of instruments such as equities, forex and commodities. She has a Master of Business. With her strong training in quantitative and statistical skills, she has taken a deep interest in quantitative trading methods. In the area of trading, she has developed many mathematical-base systems and specialises in projective ratio analysis and price action techniques.
Binni has been invited to speak by BNP Paribas, Lim & Tan Securities, CIMB Securities, Phillip Futures, OCBC Securities, Singapore Exchange and other financial institutions. Binni is regularly interviewed by business media such as Lianhe Zaobao and other Chinese dailies on her insights into equities and market conditions. She has also been invited to deliver seminars and lessons overseas regionally.
